Classically trained pianist Clera Ryu is an active collaborator in both vocal and instrumental repertoire and has appeared as a soloist, chamber musician, repetiteur, and a coach.
Ms. Ryu holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano at Boston University where she received full scholarship and departmental award and currently works as staff pianist serving the voice department. She previously received Professional Artist Certificate at the North Carolina School of the Arts on a graduate fellowship. While enjoying her active performing career in New England, she is equally passionate about music education; currently teaching at Lesley University and Pine Manor College as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology serving as an instructor in piano labs.
Ms. Ryu has performed internationally in France, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, and prestigious venues in the United States including the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and the National Opera Center, NY. In the past summers, ms. Ryu has appeared as pianist and coach working with talented singers in programs such as the Young Artist Vocal Program at the BU Tanglewood Institute, the Franco-American Vocal Academy in France, and the Metropolitan International Music Festival in NY.
